You probably weren’t expecting us to talk about anything other than orthodontic equipment, were you? That’s a reasonable expectation! We’ll talk about advancements in treatments shortly, but we cannot continue without highlighting our online patient portal!
Our team loves our online system that makes your experience as a patient as easy and convenient as possible. In the portal, you can request appointments, pay outstanding balances, and review other account information! You can also access your X-rays, photos, and additional treatment information.
When you utilize the portal, you can complete tasks on your to-do list at your own pace and time. No longer do you have to be on hold or wait for an email response when you need an appointment, account information, or treatment records. Everything you need is at your fingertips whenever you need it!

Just as cool, if not cooler, than our online portal is our treatment options! We know you have plenty of choices for orthodontic treatment, but we always make a point to offer our patients the best possible treatment technology for the best possible results.
Unfortunately, many people in the Austin area choose not to improve their alignments or postpone treatment because they are under the impression that orthodontic treatment is unsightly or uncomfortable. While that might have been true once upon a time, it’s not anymore! Updates to treatment methods have made them more pleasant and attractive than ever!
SPEED Self-Ligating Braces
It would not be a crazy assumption to believe that braces are the most quickly recognizable orthodontic treatment option. Their metal brackets, wires, and colorful ligatures make them easy to spot.
At Austin Orthodontic Arts, we’ve noticed that patients today desire a little more subtlety than that. That’s just one of the reasons we’re excited about our SPEED self-ligating metal braces! These also use brackets and wires, but their lack of colorful ligatures allows them to blend into the teeth better for a more natural look.

Clear Braces
We also offer clear braces for adults and older teens who want something that’s even less visible than self-ligating braces! These have all the same parts as traditional metal braces, including the ligatures! The difference, you might’ve guessed by their name, as in their appearance!
Instead of metal brackets and colorful ligatures, clear braces use tooth-colored ligatures and ceramic brackets to create the illusion of clear braces. Ceramic braces can fix almost all, if not all, the same issues as metal braces, so you do not have to choose between aesthetics or effectiveness.
3M Clarity Aligners
Our orthodontists understand that, for some patients, fixed braces aren’t the right look at all. They might ask us or themselves, “Can I receive treatment without looking like I’m in treatment?” This question might have been seen as wishful thinking in the past, but thanks to clear aligners, it’s now a possibility!
Clear aligners are removable braces that don’t involve brackets, wires, or ligatures. Instead, clear aligners are transparent, custom-created trays that fit snugly over the teeth. They camouflage into the landscape of the mouth so well that hardly anyone will know you or your child are wearing them!
The removability of clear aligners means that wearers don’t have to compromise on their lifestyle, either. You can improve your smile without changing your diet or oral hygiene routine! They are a fantastic combination of appearance and functionality.
