Your Smile Is Everything
A successful orthodontic treatment experience isn't just about receiving professional and gentle care. You also need to trust that your doctor and orthodontic team have your best interest at heart.
At Austin Orthodontic Arts, this is what we strive for each and every day so that you have an enjoyable treatment at our Austin practice.
Comprehensive + Ongoing Care
At Austin Orthodontic Arts, we're dedicated to transforming your life through a commitment to skill, service, and results. Dr. Hime, Dr. Salome, and Dr. Naj are orthodontists. Orthodontists are dentists first. Out of 100 dental school graduates, on average, only six go on to become orthodontists.
To practice orthodontics, Dr. Hime, Dr. Salome, and Dr. Naj spent 11 years in training (four years of college, four years of dental school, and three years of orthodontics residency).
When they were orthodontic students, they spent three years learning the skills needed to manage tooth movement and guide facial development.
It’s our goal to see you walk away with a healthy, beautiful smile and the confidence that comes along with it.
Three Board-Certified Orthodontists
At Austin Orthodontic Arts, our practice has three board-certified orthodontists to collaborate on all aspects of your treatment.
Dr. Hime, Dr. Salome, and Dr. Naj also teach and lecture on orthodontic topics and have worked as associate professors at UTHSC in San Antonio.
Our multi-doctor practice means that you are receiving attentive care from three widely-respected orthodontists. Three heads are better than one!
From your first phone call to your first visit to the day your braces come off, your experience is important to us as a team.
Core Values
Commitment to Community
Austin Orthodontic Arts is committed to giving back to our community by partnering with nonprofits, schools, and other organizations in Austin to provide care to those in need.
With the Share A Smile initiative, our team provides service to those who cannot afford orthodontic care. We do this because we truly believe that orthodontic treatment has the capacity to transform lives by providing a stepping-stone for future success.
Convenient Location
Your schedule is chock-full and your time is important. Our Austin office was designed to accommodate your hectic life. At Austin Orthodontic Arts, great orthodontic care is only a few minutes from your home, work, or school.
Our office is a freestanding building with plenty of parking, conveniently located just off MoPac and RM 2222 on Balcones Drive. We are here to serve the greater Austin and the greater Central Texas area.
Individual Treatment Rooms
At Austin Orthodontic Arts, we offer individual treatment rooms for your comfort and privacy.
We also keep all your diagnostic records in our office, and we have an in-house lab for fabricating retainers, space maintainers, and other appliances related to your orthodontic treatment.
Online Access
We offer online access for you to view scheduled appointments and account information.
You can also see patient photos and x-rays. In addition, you can choose to be reminded of your upcoming appointments by phone, e-mail, or text message—or all three!
Salome Store
One of the coolest perks at our Austin orthodontic office is our HimeBucks Program.
Throughout treatment patients can earn Himebucks to spend in our Salome Store. Patients can choose to purchase awesome prizes with their collections, or they can choose to donate them! We match Himebucks dollar-for-dollar to local charities, including Helping Hand Home, Austin Pets Alive!, and LifeWorks, at the beginning of each year.
Susan’s Garden
Susan’s Garden is a peaceful place to wait for an appointment or to drink a cup of tea. Enjoy the outdoors, share a conversation, or simply savor a few minutes of peaceful rest.
The garden was created in loving memory of Dr. Susan Hime, Dr. David’s wife and partner, who died unexpectedly in 2003. Although Dr. Susan is no longer physically present in our practice, her spirit continues to live through all of us at Austin Orthodontic Arts.
Dr. Susan possessed a zest for life, an aliveness and energy that was uncommon. She greeted all she met with a smile, and had an ability to connect with virtually everyone she met.
Susan described herself as a person with “peace in her mind and love in her heart.” We hope that you can feel this peace and love as you sit and enjoy Susan’s Garden.
